Intravenous Therapies

INTRAVENOUS CANCER THERAPIES

closed
Intravenous and Oral Vitamin C

This therapy has been shown to increase survival time in cancer patients, decrease the amount of radiation required, enhance chemotherapy, protect from damage of chemotherapy, inhibit the growth of some cancers, and reverse some abnormal cell lines back to normal.

Intravenous and Oral DCA (Dichloroacetate)

DCA turns on the mitochondria of cancer cells, allowing them to resume normal cell suicide (also known as apoptosis). One of the ways cancer survives is by turning off normal metabolism in the mitochondria, and thus, turning off apoptosis.
Contact the Natural Family Health Clinic for more information and scientific references to support these therapies.

Intravenous Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA)

ALA functions in the body by the following mechanisms:  Mitochondrial stimulant (increasing cellular energy),  acts as both a fat and water soluble scavenger of free radicals and thus a reducer of oxidative stress (100 times stronger inhibitor of free-radicals than Vitamin E and C combined),  increases glutathione activity to help detoxify the liver, detoxifies toxic heavy metals, reduces the side effects of radiation and chemo, strengthens the effect of and regenerates other antioxidants,  reduces inflammation, improves tissue regeneration, stimulates the immune system, protects DNA, reduces fibrosis, can reverse neuropathies, stimulates apoptosis (cancer cell death),  enhances and restores kidney filtration, and modifies gene expression.

Intravenous Vitamin C

Vitamin C has many beneficial functions in the human body. It is important to note that humans are one of the few species incapable of manufacturing vitamin C internally, and thus, are reliant on food sources of vitamin C for survival. This nutrient plays a major role in the manufacture and defense of our connective tissue, the elaborate matrix that holds the body together. It is a primary ingredient in collagen, a glue-like substance that binds cells together to form tissues.
Vitamin C stimulates the immune system to fight off foreign invaders and tumor cells.
Vitamin C is vital for heart and circulatory health by facilitating fat metabolism, protecting vessels from free radical damage, and strengthening blood vessel walls.
Vitamin C maintains healthy bones, teeth, gums, and tissues. Plus, it aids in wound healing.
Vitamin C combats inflammation and pain. It behaves like a “natural aspirin”.

Intravenous Alpha-Lipoic Acid

Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA) Intravenous Therapy
Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA) is one of the most powerful antioxidants in the natural world. Researchers and Doctors who work with this organosulfur compound are having some phenomenal results treating some of our most resistant chronic diseases. These include diabetic peripheral neuropathy (a numbness, usually in the feet of diabetics), pancreatic and other cancers, liver disease, and auto-immune diseases.

Intravenous Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2)

Intravenous Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is an oxidative and antimicrobial treatment which helps to eliminate pathogenic microorganisms from the body. It is particularly useful in cases of pneumonia, emphysema, bronchitis, and other lung infections. This treatment can “debride” the lungs, which means to loosen and remove toxic deposits on lung tissue. It has also been successful in the treatment of: viral infections, yeast infections, bacterial infections, gangrene and diabetic skin ulcers, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, petrochemical toxicities, conditions of low tissue oxygenation, arterial plaque build-up (atherosclerosis), temporal arteritis, conditions of impaired metabolic rate, shingles, cancer and autoimmune diseases such as Lupus, scleroderma, rheumatoid arthritis and MS.

Conditions which can be treated with H2O2 include those conditions treated with antibiotics, but without the serious toxicity often associated with antibiotics.

Intravenous Plaquex Therapy

Phospholipids, particularly phosphatidyl choline (PC), are essential to life and tissue function. They are the major building block of cell membranes which surround every cell in the body and allow for healthy cellular function and communication.
Intravenous PC is called Plaquex therapy. It has several actions including decreasing plaquing in arteries, improving circulation (especially in Diabetics), boosting sexual performance, reversing the ravages of aging, acting as a potent liver detoxifier, and detoxifying biotoxins and toxic heavy metals.

Ozone Therapies and Your Health

Ozone is a safe super-oxygenated compound that is natural, inexpensive, and has the potential to solve many of our modern-day health dilemmas. The medical use of ozone to treat a variety of acute and chronic illnesses has been occurring in integrated medical clinics and has been scientifically studied for over 50 years. This safe, effective therapy is used extensively in many countries but is relatively new to North America where it has unfortunately been largely ignored.

Ozone has proven safe and effective in treating some of our most common serious health problems, including heart disease, disorders of poor circulation, chronic pain, cancer, diabetes, and viral infections such as HIV, hepatitis, Lyme disease, Chronic Fatigue syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and autoimmune disorders.

Myers Cocktail Nutritional/Immune IV

Dr. John Myers, a physician from Baltimore, Maryland pioneered the use of intravenous (IV) vitamins and minerals. After his passing in 1984, Dr. Alan Gaby continued his work and discovered that many acute and chronic conditions benefited from this treatment. A Myers Cocktail is an intravenous infusion of vitamins and mineral, particularly vitamin C, magnesium, calcium, and B-vitamins. Various botanical and homeopathic remedies may also be added to the mixture. It may be given in an IV push over 20 minutes or as an IV drip over 45 minutes.
The basic formula is made with the following:
Sterile water
Vitamin C
Magnesium chloride
Calcium chloride
Vitamin B12
Vitamin B6
Vitamin B5
B-Complex

Prolozone Pain Management Therapy

Prolozone is an injectable pain management therapy developed by Dr. Frank Shallenberger, a renowned anti-aging Doctor and “the father” of modern ozone therapy in North America.

Prolozone is effective for all forms of musculoskeletal and joint pain including chronic neck, back, knee, hip, and shoulder pain, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and rotator cuff injuries. Because Prolozone corrects the underlying pathology of the disorder, there is a 75% chance the chronic pain will be resolved completely.

EDTA Chelation Therapy

Introduction and History of Use

EDTA Chelation Therapy was first used during World War II as a poison gas antidote.  Later it was used in the USA starting in 1948 as a treatment for industrial workers to remove lead.  It has since remained as the approved and undisputed treatment of choice for lead poisoning.  However, doctors began noticing that patients being treated for lead poisoning had the good fortune of also enjoying improvements in well- being, and particularly they noticed a decrease in symptoms related to heart and circulatory disease.

What is it? What is the protocol?

Chelation comes from the Greek word “Chele” which means a claw of a crab or lobster.  Chelation is the pincer-like action of a molecule as it surrounds a metal ion like a claw.  Once chelated or surrounded in this way the metals are removed from the body via the urine.
The protocol for chelation involves intravenous infusions which last 1.5-3 hours per treatment depending on individual needs.  10-30 treatments are required initially at 1-2 per week, then 10 per year as maintenance and prevention.  Extensive blood and urine testing is required prior to treatment and intermittently during treatment to ensure adequate kidney, liver, and heart functioning.  Often vascular studies and ECG’s may be done ahead of treatment to determine the diagnosis and extent of the disease.

Pre-Chelation Work up

Complete blood screening for organ functioning, iron levels, blood cell analysis, toxic metal analysis, and urine analysis is completed ahead of time.  During treatment urinalysis, may be completed intermittently and kidney function is tested every 10 treatments.  Any vascular studies which are available will be examined.  Arterial stiffness studies may be completed in-office prior to starting the treatments.  This helps to define what the diagnosis is, how severe it is, and helps to monitor progress.

Other Chelating Agents

Two other chelating agents are often used to augment the use of EDTA.  They are DMPS and DMSA.  DMPS is an intravenous agent which has high affinity for mercury and is the primary agent used in mercury detoxification.  DMSA is an oral agent which also detoxifies Mercury well.  It works in conjunction with EDTA to remove tissue lead (EDTA is better at removing bone lead and DMSA is better at removing tissue lead, so they can work well together).
